Finding Purpose, Confidence, and Career Growth

At Summit VA Solutions, we meet Virtual Assistants with stories that remind us why this industry is so meaningful.  We’re proud to feature Rocel Guyon, whose dedication to learning, adapting, and serving her clients makes her stand out in all the best ways.

From her first week as a VA to her biggest milestones today, Rocel is an example of how commitment and dedication can transform a person’s career and personal life.

Inspired by Family, Driven by Purpose

For Rocel, becoming a Virtual Assistant didn’t start with ambition alone. It began with love.

“I started wanting to be a Virtual Assistant because I wanted to provide a comfortable life for my family.”

That simple desire has grown into a thriving career where she not only earns for her loved ones but also proves to herself what she’s capable of.

Her First Big Challenge

Like many new VAs, the biggest hurdle was understanding different clients, personalities, and work styles.

“Adapting to each client’s unique expectations and work style was the most challenging for me… but over time I learned to approach every task with patience and curiosity.”

What impressed us most is how intentional Rocel is. Instead of shying away from complexity, she dove in. She studied her client’s business, researched continuously, and built systems that worked for her.

This is the exact kind of mindset that makes a VA thrive not perfection, but willingness to learn.

A Day in her life

Rocel’s day starts the way all strong working relationships do: with presence and consistency.

She begins by checking in with her client, then works through daily reports, emails, and task lists. Her rhythm is steady, organized, and built around reliability.

“I make sure all emails are answered and organized… then I move on to tasks assigned by my client and his team, ensuring everything is completed efficiently and on time.”

This level of self-management and initiative is what sets excellent VAs apart. And Rocel embodies it effortlessly.

Balancing Projects with Intention

Her approach to multitasking is simple but powerful:

“I prioritize urgent tasks before non-urgent ones, making sure each is handled thoroughly so nothing needs to be redone.”

It’s this careful attention that creates trust, not just completing tasks, but completing them well.

Moments That Make the Work Worth It

Every VA remembers that one moment when a client’s appreciation hits differently. For Rocel, it was hearing heartfelt gratitude for a project she worked hard on.

Another memorable experience was planning a full flight itinerary for a client and his family, complete with a beautifully designed PDF she created herself.

“He told me that everyone loved it… and since then, they’ve looked forward to how their itineraries will be presented.”

This is what we love seeing: initiative turning into excellence, and excellence turning into long-term client trust.

Handling Tough Situations with Grace

One of Rocel’s toughest moments came while speaking to a frustrated tenant. With her client unavailable, she had to manage the situation on her own.

“I stayed calm, listened, and gently guided the conversation until her tone softened.”

This is textbook professionalism. And it’s the kind of emotional intelligence that can’t be taught through manuals, it comes from maturity, empathy, and experience.

How Becoming a VA Changed Her Life

Rocel’s journey isn’t just about career growth. It’s about quality of life.

“Becoming a Virtual Assistant has allowed me to pay my bills on time and support my family’s needs… while still having quality time with them.”

This balance is exactly what Summit VA Solutions advocates for: meaningful work without sacrificing family life.

Skills Built Through Determination

Over time, Rocel has strengthened skills that make her a more well-rounded VA: multitasking, active listening, problem-solving. But she didn’t stop there.

“I taught myself basic video editing and graphic design by researching and practicing when my client needed those skills.”

This is the kind of initiative that turns a good VA into an invaluable one.

Her Advice to Aspiring Virtual Assistants

“Don’t be afraid of change. Every challenge is an opportunity to grow… It’s always better to ask questions than to pretend you know something.”

We couldn't agree more! Curiosity, humility, and consistency... these are the traits that build successful VA careers.

Working with VAs like Rocel reminds us why we do this work. Her story reflects:

  • The power of continuous learning
  • The strength of family motivation
  • The heart of service that defines the best VAs
  • The courage to adapt, improve, and step up when needed

Rocel represents the spirit of Summit VA Solutions: grounded, hardworking, and committed to excellence. We are proud to have her in the Summit family, and even prouder to share her story.
